The Working Groups are the thematic backbone of AEGEE. They are multinational groups of AEGEE members interested in specific issues, such as education policy, minorities in Europe, environmental issues and more... They organise events, edit publications, conduct discussions, etc. A board and the members form every Working Group. Working Groups often take the initiation of new projects. To realise a project a project-group is founded, with a co-ordinating project-responsible in the board. The first tasks of this group are the definition of a purpose and the creation of a structure for the project, containing a task division. After this, the group fills in the details on a special "project form", which is sent to the network. Interested locals can react to this and participate in the project.
There are three kinds of Working Groups: * AEGEE Working Groups: They have the same status as an Antenna, i.e. they are registered as associations and have delegates and voting rights at the Agora. The AEGEE Working Groups are: "Cultural Working Group", "Education Working Group", "Human Rights Working Group", "International Politics Working Group". * Thematic Working Groups: They give input to the elaboration of AEGEE ‘s positions and strategies on the respective fields. They are a platform for discussion and knowledge on specific topics. They do not have voting rights at the Agora. Thematic Working Group is the "East-West Working Group". * Supporting Working Groups: They deal with a specific task to support the CD and the locals. The Supporting Working Groups are: "Academy (internal Education)", " Bobigosa Working group", "Dance Working Group", " Informatics Technology Working Group", "Public Relations Working Group", "Visa Freedom Fighters Working Group". Below you can find a short description of each Working Group. See also the AEGEE-Europe working groups portal. For more info visit the AEGEE-Europe website: http://www.aegee.org BoBiGoSa Working Group Bobigosa Working Group is a thematic virtual square where people with common ideas meet for creating new and useful proposals and spread their own vision of what AEGEE should be but it is not. Bobigosa WG was named after the initials of a charming Italian village. It was decided to use irony and provocation as the main tools but never in an offensive or personnalised way. The main criticism actions of Bobigosa WG are against: high fees for some Events, high bureaucracy in AEGEE, personal profit by using the AEGEE network. The results of this campaign is that now many Locals follow the idea that all members of AEGEE must be given the chance to participate in the events and not only the richest ones. The biggest result, though, is the introduction of a Basic Course of AEGEE in the Summer University Working Format. In this way, an SU participant that approaches AEGEE for the first time, is able to understand much better our Association.
