!! SUMMER UNIVERSITY !!  

A Summer University is usually a two-week event organized by an AEGEE local where between 20 and 40 students come together from all over Europe. Summer Universities are very well organized by students for students. The activities carried out during a Summer University range from academic activities: classes to learn a foreign language, different courses on technical themes to multicultural activities: get familiar with Finnish culture, Spanish history, Greek mythology; learn how to sail or tracking or etc. Each year around 100 Summer Universities take place all around Europe, with around 2500 students from more than a 30 European countries; from France to Moldova, and from Finland to Malta.

The Summer University Project aims at opening a new perspective to the participants over the multicultural dimension of the European continent. It also promotes understanding among European students, removing national borders and an European feeling. The project seeks for involving of the European students in an integrated environment.

The Summer University Project was born in 1988, which makes it the longest lasting project in AEGEE history. It aims at promoting the European Integration. This project is the main tool developed by AEGEE, to attain this difficult but fascinating target. Since that time, it has been continuing every year with the participation of more than 90 antennae. It reflects AEGEE's traditional formula: Acquaint Europeans with Europe!
